Last week Friday, 6th of November 2015, EasyStore and EasyParcel had organized a workshop, “Online Biz Opportunities of PenangLang” in Suntech Cybercity, Penang and of course we have representatives from 11street to share with us some tips and tricks on selling in 11street.
On that day, we have June Sim and Melissa from EasyStore, Ares Tan from EasyParcel and Shaun Yap from 11street as speakers to share with us online business opportunities.

1. 11street
First up, we have Shaun Yap, Manager of Seller Development from 11street to share with us the current e-commerce trend, insights of 11street and some photography tips that will make your products stood out in the crowd. According to him, we have 20 million Malaysian online today. 71% of the majority uses smartphone, 14% uses the tablet and 35% uses the computer to surf the internet today. He pointed out that having your website optimized to mobile-friendly is a must if you want to succeed in online business.
Later on, he did a brief introduction of 11street about it’s origin, services provided and many more. 11street is a joint venture of Celcom and SK Planet. In 11street, an Escrow system were provided for safe and secure transactions and of course an established Trust & Safety policy to prevent illegal transactions, products and members.
What makes 11street different from other marketplace is that they provide e-commerce training to educate their sellers to successfully sell their products. They have regular trainings in Kuala Lumpur and classes for 11street’s sellers to attend. Furthermore, they provide a photography studio for sellers to capture high quality picture of their products to be posted in 11street marketplace. They will have their own professional photographers to educate the sellers to capture the best picture that sells.
Before Shaun ends his speech, he share some photography tips that will surely make your product sell in 11street marketplace. Some of the tips include using tripod to avoid blurry picture, capturing a picture with more variation of colors to show the richer side of the products, using window light to capture products and many more.
2. EasyStore

Lastly, we have Ares Tan from EasyParcel to share with us knowledge about EasyParcel. For your information, EasyParcel is Malaysia’s first online courier service booking platform. Currently, EasyParcel’s courier partners consist of PosLaju, Airpak, Nationwide Express, Skynet, DeliverLah and SnT.
There are benefits in using EasyParcel which are door to door collection. You can book your delivery and the courier partners of your choice will come and pick up your parcels from home. Furthermore, EasyParcel have the cheapest delivery rate at Rm6 per kg only and there is no need to write your airway bill every time you want to deliver parcels. What if you have more than 50 parcels? After booking your delivery, you can just print out AWB directly. Simple.
Besides that, Ares pointed out that shipment tracking are very manual. For example, if you are delivering parcels with different courier service, you will have to track them one by one. By using EasyParcel, you can view all your tracking status in just a list. Not only that, you can use the bulk upload if you have a lot of parcels to deliver and of course your parcels will have insurance protection depending on your parcel’s value.
