How To Calculate Volumetric Weight

Volumetric Weight is a pricing technique which uses an estimated weight that is calculated from the length, width, and height of a parcel.

Majority of couriers base their shipping rate on either the actual weight or volumetric weight of a parcel, whichever is the greater. If your item is large and takes up a lot of space when being moved about, the cost is greater for the courier to cover. It doesn’t matter if you are delivering internationally or within Singapore, volumetric weight still applies.

Luckily EasyParcel’s volumetric calculator can does the math for you, so as long as you declare the actual dimensions you can avoid any weight dispute issue. Failure to do so can result in the courier charging you for the additional weight at a normal rate, plus it can cause your parcel delivery to be delayed.
