The event kicked off with YB Chang Lih Kang (Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation of Malaysia) sharing how the Malaysian government is focusing on machine learning in areas like agriculture, healthcare, smart cities and education. This gives us the big-picture view of how it can revolutionize industries beyond tech, including logistics.
One session that stood out was from Mr. Serm Teck Choon (Co-founder and CEO of Antsomi). His talk on ’10 Things to Know Before 2053′ was a reminder that keeping up with Artificial Intelligence isn’t optional but is essential. It got us thinking about how to stay ahead by using AI creatively to solve problems and stand out in the market.

We were particularly impressed by Astro’s innovative use of AI in broadcasting. Seeing their virtual anchor, Elin tAI (Instagram), live on stage was mind-blowing! Astro’s efforts in blending AI with creativity showed us how technology can redefine industries, even in areas like content creation.

- Making AI Work for You with Dr. Lau Cher Han He showed us how to use data to uncover hidden business opportunities. This inspired us to dig deeper into data-driven decision-making.

Pua Khein-Seng shared his perspective on the future of Artificial Intelligence. While cloud-based AI tools like ChatGPT have accelerated the development of Artificial Intelligence technologies, he highlighted two major barriers to their widespread adoption across industries:
- Concerns Over Confidentiality: Businesses hesitate to fully embrace cloud AI due to the potential risk of sensitive information being leaked.
- High Costs: The operational expenses of cloud-based AI solutions remain a significant hurdle for many organizations.
He believes the next big trend will be the shift from cloud AI to edge AI—a transformation that will bring AI capabilities closer to businesses, schools, and households.

Edge AI involves processing data locally on devices rather than relying on centralized cloud servers. This approach addresses confidentiality concerns, reduces latency, and lowers costs by eliminating constant reliance on cloud infrastructure.
