Last week, EasyParcel team joined ‘Thrive With AI Conference’ in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was an eye-opener to learn how this tool is shaping the future of businesses. Over two packed days, we walked away with many practical tips and fresh ideas for embedding Artificial Intelligence in our operations.
Key Takeaways: How AI Change the Game

The event kicked off with YB Chang Lih Kang (Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation of Malaysia) sharing how the Malaysian government is focusing on machine learning in areas like agriculture, healthcare, smart cities and education. This gives us the big-picture view of how it can revolutionize industries beyond tech, including logistics.
One session that stood out was from Mr. Serm Teck Choon (Co-founder and CEO of Antsomi). His talk on ’10 Things to Know Before 2053′ was a reminder that keeping up with Artificial Intelligence isn’t optional but is essential. It got us thinking about how to stay ahead by using AI creatively to solve problems and stand out in the market.
Learning from Astro

We were particularly impressed by Astro’s innovative use of AI in broadcasting. Seeing their virtual anchor, Elin tAI (Instagram), live on stage was mind-blowing! Astro’s efforts in blending AI with creativity showed us how technology can redefine industries, even in areas like content creation.
Inspiration from Real-Life Stories
Some of the talks were directly linked to what we do at EasyParcel:
- Cybersecurity with Mr Fong Choong Fook We learned how Artificial Intelligence can protect against data breaches and fraud. This is something we can use to make our platform even safer for users.
- Digital Humans with Miss Shin Kan Pei Xin Imagine having an AI-powered customer support assistant that’s available 24/7. Miss Shin’s success with digital humans gave us ideas about improving how we interact with our users.
- Making AI Work for You with Dr. Lau Cher Han He showed us how to use data to uncover hidden business opportunities. This inspired us to dig deeper into data-driven decision-making.
Hands-On Workshops: From Ideas to Action
We also got to roll up our sleeves in these workshops:
- Data Is King: A session that explored how to organize and analyze data to gain a competitive edge.
- Clone: The Other You: Demonstrated how to create digital humans—perfect for businesses looking to enhance their branding with virtual personas. This workshop showcases how we can use one short video to generate multiple videos with different contents and languages.
- AI Tools in an Hour: Taught us how to use powerful generative AI tools like NotebookLM and Claude for daily tasks.
- AI in Recruitment: Shared how to leverage AI to match the right talent with the right job, streamlining the hiring process.
Sharing From 'Father of Pendrive' --- Pua Khein-Seng
Image: Sharing from Pua Khein-Seng
Pua Khein-Seng shared his perspective on the future of Artificial Intelligence. While cloud-based AI tools like ChatGPT have accelerated the development of Artificial Intelligence technologies, he highlighted two major barriers to their widespread adoption across industries:
- Concerns Over Confidentiality: Businesses hesitate to fully embrace cloud AI due to the potential risk of sensitive information being leaked.
- High Costs: The operational expenses of cloud-based AI solutions remain a significant hurdle for many organizations.
He believes the next big trend will be the shift from cloud AI to edge AI—a transformation that will bring AI capabilities closer to businesses, schools, and households.
What is Edge AI?
Edge AI involves processing data locally on devices rather than relying on centralized cloud servers. This approach addresses confidentiality concerns, reduces latency, and lowers costs by eliminating constant reliance on cloud infrastructure.
Why is it Important?
By decentralizing Artificial Intelligence, edge AI allows enterprises to implement solutions on-site, creating opportunities for innovation while maintaining control over sensitive data. It’s more scalable and practical for sectors like education, healthcare, and manufacturing.
Moving Forward with AI
The workshop showed us that AI isn’t just about cool tech—it’s a way to work smarter and provide better services. We’re excited to bring what we’ve learned into our daily operations and keep growing alongside our users.
