An earthquake with magnitude 6.0 was reported in Kota Kinabalu and Ranau this morning. Stay safe to all our dearest customers in Sabah.
Here’s what you should do after the earthquake:
- Check water, gas, and electric lines for damage. If any are damaged, shut off the valves. Check for the smell of gas. If you smell it, open all the windows and doors, leave immediately, and report it to the authorities.
- Stay out of damaged buildings.
- Stay away from beaches.
- Put on long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, sturdy shoes and work gloves to protect against injury from broken objects.
- Open cabinets cautiously. Beware of objects that can fall off shelves.
- If you’re at school or work, follow the emergency plan or the instructions of the person in charge.
